Since its founding in 1955, Albuquerque Academy has grown from a small school in a church hall to one of the nation's preeminent independent day schools. As an independent school, the Academy operates without financial support from local, state, or federal government, relying on tuition and endowment income, and a strong Annual Fund to maintain operations.
Your gift to the Annual Fund benefits every facet of the school: the excellence and breadth of our academics, faculty salaries and professional development, financial aid, the visual and performing arts, athletics, technology, community outreach programs, and outstanding extracurricular activities.
Gifts to the endowment and gifts to the Annual Fund both relieve the Academy's reliance on tuition income. While spending from the endowment is limited to the portion that can be used in a given year (about 5%), the Annual Fund provides flexible, immediate funds, allowing the school to respond effectively to important needs that arise.
