About Our Endowment

You often hear about the Albuquerque Academy endowment, a resource sometimes perceived as a permanent guarantee of the school's economic viability. In fact, while the endowment does provide a significant source of income, philanthropic support is also critical to the future of the school. Below are some commonly asked questions about our endowment and philanthropy.

First, just what is an endowment?
Why does it cost so much for one child's education?
How big is the Academy's endowment?
How do you know how much can be spent from the endowment each year?
How come, though, with such a large endowment, it is necessary to charge tuition?
Given all that, how does the Academy's tuition compare with other schools?
Given the income from the endowment, why is everyone associated with the Academy still asked to make a donation?
Our gift would be a mere drop in the bucket for the Academy, even though it would be a sacrifice for our family. Why should we stretch to make a gift?
Why shouldn't we give to where the needs seem greater — to the homeless, our place of worship, or a small local organization where our gift would make a much larger impact?
YOUR GIFT MATTERS!
