Nearly three-quarters of the Academy DECA team that competed at state qualified to represent New Mexico at the national competition. Of the 39 students registered for the DECA state competition, two are advancing to leadership academies, and 27 qualified for nationals.

While the team is waiting on role play scores, it was announced that Spencer Lyon received the highest score in the state on his written presentation. Landen Martinez qualified through the stock market game. He placed 16th in the region, which gave him automatic advancement to nationals. He also chose to compete and got first place in his category through testing and role plays.
