Desert Oasis Teaching Gardens
The Desert Oasis Teaching Gardens is comprised of more than two acres of land on Albuquerque Academy’s campus. Formerly input-intensive turf grass, the DOT Garden is transforming into an example of regenerative agriculture and a regionally adapted pollinator and wildlife habitat.
The Japanese Memorial Garden
Located on the North side of Simms Library, this xeriscape, self-sustainable garden is modeled after gardens found in Japanese-American internment campus during WWII. The gardens integrate New Mexico culture with Japanese culture and contain over 21 plants and many different types of rocks. Members of the school community use the garden for a quiet place to reflect and study.
