Our 8th Annual Chargers Giving Back Day, which was scheduled for May 8, 2020, has been canceled due to the global challenges of the COVID-19 crisis.
As Albuquerque Academy continues to prioritize the well-being of our students, families, faculty, and staff, we will instead direct philanthropic support to the newly established Academy Endurance Fund. This fund will provide immediate school and family needs, including financial assistance, technology, and student programs, among other pressing challenges, with the goal of sustaining families and our community as we endure this crisis.
Our best wishes are with you as we face this uncertainty together. In these trying circumstances, it is important to reassert our commitment to our highest priorities — students, faculty and staff, and our families. Thank you for all that you do for the Academy every day.
What is Chargers Giving Back Day?
Chargers Giving Back Day is a 24-hour giving day held in early May, celebrating the anniversary of the groundbreaking of the Academy’s 312-acre Wyoming campus. Challenge gifts, participation matches, and videos unlocked throughout the day help generate excitement and engage the entire Academy community, near and far.
Our first online giving day began in 2013 when 195 donors gave $23,831. This annual tradition has been building momentum each year. In 2019 our generous community of 575 friends gave $117,831. Thank you, Chargers!
We deeply appreciate everyone who has participated in Chargers Giving Back Days. Your gifts are critical to ensuring that we have the operating budget necessary to maintain our quality programming, which supports every student, while continuing to provide as much financial assistance as possible so we can be accessible to students of all economic backgrounds.
