Eighth grader Aarush Tutiki finished in sixth place among all New Mexico students at the State Mathcounts competition at UNM in March. He also participated in the head-to-head Countdown, going all the way to the semifinals. As a team, the Academy placed third.
All six team members participated in the city competition, and four qualified for state.
