Academy Students Take Part in Interactive Art Installation

As part of the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) being held in Albuquerque this fall, visual and performing arts students at the Academy have been working with guest speaker and artist Nina Waisman on a site-specific, interactive installation titled “Body Envelope.”
As part of the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) being held in Albuquerque this fall, visual and performing arts students at the Academy have been working with guest speaker and artist Nina Waisman on a site-specific, interactive installation titled “Body Envelope.” The first iteration has been on display in Simms Library and will come down later this week. The second installation will be on display at the University of New Mexico, School of Architecture and Planning, in Rainosek Gallery.

The public is invited to a reception at Rainosek Gallery on Saturday, September 22, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Dance students from the Academy will perform during the reception (exact time of performances to be determined). Go to www.ninawaisman.net for more details and updated information.

The installation will run through Saturday, October 6. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Nina Waisman also presented a Community Academy lecture earlier this month.
