If You're Thinking About Applying...

Here are some things we want you to know:

For Fall 2017

Start early. A full year ahead, during the fall. Because many students apply for admission, the process begins early and closes on February 3, 2017.

Grades count, of course, but so do originality, liveliness, innate intelligence, creativity, character, and motivation. The admission process includes some testing and recommendations, but also draws on personal interviews with prospective students.

Apply for financial assistance. Admission at Albuquerque Academy is "need blind" and the process for applying for financial assistance is separate from applying for admission. Tuition for the 2016-17 school year is $22,875 which includes the mandatory lunch fee. Tuition for the 2017-18 school year will be set in January 2017.

Open House
Sunday, October 30, 2016

Begin on the West Campus, near the Wyoming Blvd. and Burlison gate

Application Fee
December 15, 2016 - deadline for early bird application fee ($25)
December 16, 2016 - application fee increases to $65

Test Dates
Tests take place on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Please call 505-828-3208 for more information.

For incoming sixth through twelfth graders, test dates are:

December 10, 2016 (optional date for Academy siblings only)
January 7, 2017
January 21, 2017
February 4, 2017

Online application, application fee, and photo must be submitted and interview scheduled before testing.

Out-of-state applicants who cannot test at Albuquerque Academy must contact the Admission Office for alternative testing instructions.

Deadline for Admission Application
A complete application file (application, application fee, transcripts, testing, photograph, completed personal interview, recommendations) must be in the admission office by February 3, 2017. School records and recommendations must be postmarked by February 1, 2017.

Deadline for Financial Assistance Application
By February 22, 2017 - Submit Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) online and upload 2016 income tax return, W-2 forms, and all schedules at http://sssbynais.org/parents.

Notification Dates
Those applicants who have met the application deadline will receive written notification regarding the outcome of their application for admission. Decision letters will be sent on March 30, 2017.
