First Chargers Sale a Resounding Success!
Thank you to everyone who participated in our first Chargers Sale. Because of your generosity, more than $10,000 worth of items were sold on Saturday. Proceeds from the sale benefit Academy students and programs.
While this was our first Chargers Sale, the tradition of a community sale began in the 1980s with Head of School Ashby Harper’s, Harper’s Bazaar. We hope the Chargers Sale will become a new school tradition in years to come.
In addition to the proceeds, the Chargers Sale provided a wonderful opportunity for the Academy to welcome community members on campus to learn more about the school, while getting some great deals on gently used items.
Hundreds of community members attended the sale, purchasing more than 3,500 items. When the sale ended, all remaining unsold items were donated to a local thrift store. The sale also brought additional customers to our annual ReadRecycle book sale, significantly increasing sales.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the 70+ volunteers who helped make this event possible. Thanks also to the many donors, students, and shoppers for making the Chargers Sale a resounding success. Without your support, this event would not have been possible.
