Thank you Albuquerque Academy community! Your support of the 6th Annual Read Recycle Book Fair produced remarkable results on behalf of Simms Library.
This year’s sale provided over $6,000 for the library materials/speakers fund, and hundreds of books and media for the library’s collections.
Materials not sold at the sale were shared with the following organizations:
- Albuquerque Indian Health Center
- Goodwill Industries of New Mexico
- Joy Junction Homeless Shelter
- New Mexico Native Health Initiative
- PACA/ABQ Animal Rescue
- Rafiki Foundation, establishes libraries in rural areas of nine African countries.
- Read to Me!, City of Albuquerque initiative to provide books for each student in Title I elementary schools.
- Southwest Family Guidance Center and Institute
- Taos Community Foundation

Donations of gently used books and media are accepted all year — including the summer — and may be dropped off at Simms Library during regular business hours. Call 828-3100 for details.
