PUBLIC PROGRAMS
Beyond the Baseline
Beyond the Baseline, an NJTL program, develops character in young people and improves their lives through education and healthy activity. We inspire youth through the transformative power of tennis, fostering a community where every child has the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential, develop essential life skills, and cultivate a lifelong love of the sport. Our program nurtures talent, promotes inclusivity, and champions educational excellence, offering every participant the chance to become a confident leader both on and off the court.
The National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) network, founded in 1969, teaches young people the importance of character, education, and becoming productive citizens, using tennis to teach life lessons. These values are shared by Albuquerque Academy and its newest auxiliary program for underserved and under-resourced youth, Beyond the Baseline.
NJTL is supported by the USTA Foundation, the national charitable organization of the USTA. The work done by its member chapters includes after-school tutoring that focuses on academic enrichment, a life-skills curriculum, and, of course, tennis.
