Security Guard

POSITION SUMMARY

The Albuquerque Academy Security Department is seeking an individual for the position of Security Guard. This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of students, faculty, staff, and visitors while on the Albuquerque Academy campus. The Security Guard patrols campus buildings, walks paths and outdoor open spaces, staffs the main entrance check-in, monitors security cameras to ensure campus safety, and briefs visitors, faculty, staff, and students on school policies as needed. The Albuquerque Academy Communications Department is seeking an individual for the position of Coordinator. This position is responsible for producing content that tells the Albuquerque Academy story. As a member of the communications team, the coordinator will utilize their strong verbal, written, artistic, and technical skills to promote the school. A successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to think strategically and creatively about the role of communications, including websites, social media, direct messaging, photography, video, and graphic design. They will bring new ideas to the team, effectively manage multiple priorities, exercise good judgment, and work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and parents, as well as outside partners. Temporary 9th Grade History Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY

The History Department at Albuquerque Academy seeks a passionate and energetic TEMPORARY 9th-grade world history teacher. This TEMPORARY position will be from January 5, 2027 to May 31, 2027. We are looking for someone who is patient, engaging, and creative in thinking about the art of teaching. Candidates must be eager to inspire a love of history in all students and to collaborate with colleagues. Our curriculum moves from a two-year sequence in World History in 8th and 9th grade to United States History in 10th grade, followed by numerous electives and AP offerings. Maintenance Technician

The Albuquerque Academy Maintenance Department is seeking an individual for the position of Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, adjustment, and minor construction work to ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet Albuquerque Academy standards. The Maintenance Technician must perform building maintenance tasks in one or more fields. They will also perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. Duties may fall into a variety of tasks that require strict adherence to safety standards and compliance.

Philanthropy Officer

The Albuquerque Academy Advancement Office is seeking an individual for the position of Philanthropy Officer. This position is responsible for working under the general direction of the Director of Advancement and as a collaborative member of the Advancement team. The Philanthropy Officer serves as an experienced development professional for the school, managing the solicitation of major gift prospects and donors. They will manage a portfolio of donor prospects with an estimated capacity for gifts between $10,000 and $100,000.

Lifeguard

POSITION SUMMARY

The Albuquerque Academy Charger Aquatics program is seeking Lifeguards to join our on-call pool. Albuquerque Academy lifeguards guard events throughout the school year and summer, based on their availability. Events include but are not limited to: pool parties, swim team practice, diving practice, swim meets, swimming lessons, and recreational swim groups during Think Summer. Lifeguards also have the opportunity to teach swim lessons. Applicants MUST be Red Cross certified and able to pass a swim test.

Think Summer Teacher Pool – All Subjects

Experiential Education Contractual Field Instructor Pool

SCHEDULE

Seasonal

POSITION SUMMARY

This listing is an evergreen pool. Candidates will be contacted periodically to interview for the field position.

The Experiential Education department helps support and enhance Albuquerque Academy’s rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and outdoor education trips are required for students in grades 6-9. Students in grades 10-12 can elect to take Outdoor Pursuits for elective or physical education credit. The outdoor education program is staffed by three full time faculty members and three seasonal field faculty members. Programs are offered throughout New Mexico and the Four Corners region.

The outdoor education curriculum progression includes two day hikes and an overnight for 6th graders, a three-day backpacking trip for 7th graders, skills days for 8th graders, and a four to five day backpacking trip for 9th graders. Faculty also support experiential co-curricular trips for other academic departments, design and lead three-week field-based senior seminars, and teach and support field components for Outdoor Pursuits class, including rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking and survival skills.
