A painting by visual arts faculty member David Welch will be part of the Viva Flora! — Treasured Plants of New Mexico art exhibit featuring works inspired by the plants of New Mexico.
The exhibit — a collaboration between Santa Fe Botanical Garden and the Santa Fe Arts Commission — will be on display June 21 through August 23, 2013 at the Community Gallery (inside the Santa Fe Community Convention Center), and features artwork by over 35 local artists in a vareity of media. An opening reception will be held on Friday, June 21 from 5-7 p.m.
David painted his piece depicting penstemons and Indian paintbrush at the entrance of Bear Canyon in May of 2012 when the penstemons were in full bloom.
