Seventeen Academy Thespians Qualify for Nationals

Albuquerque Academy hosted the annual State Thespian Conference on Friday-Saturday, January 17-18, 2014. Almost 300 theatre students and their teachers from 17 schools throughout the state attended. Forty theatre professionals also attended to evaluate student presentations, and help with over 60 workshops offered on a wide range of theatre topics and skills.

In addition to the workshops, students participated in individual events, not competing against others in the room, but rather judged according to a “standard of excellence” that exists in each of the disciplines of theatre. Listed below are the Albuquerque Academy students from Thespian Troupe 740 who have qualifed for an opportunity to compete for scholarships at the International Conference held the last week of June on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.
