Speech and Debate State Tournament Cut Short Due to Weather
Due to an unusually large amount of snowfall, the State Tournament was cut short — participants only got three rounds of competition. Despite disappointment and frustration, the Academy team performed exceptionally well:

Seniors Make Top 32 in International Public Policy Form
Earlier in the fall season a team of four seniors — Ria Mazumdar, John Chappell, Grace Su, and Victor Wu— began competing in the 14th Annual Bickel & Brewer/New York University International Public Policy Forum (IPPF) debates (click here to read news story) and climbed to the top 32 bracket. Congratulations!

Golden Desert Debate Tournament, January 31-February 2, 2015, Las Vegas, NV
Two seniors — Julia Friedmann and EmmaLia Mariner — competed in this national tournament, making it to the Double-Octa round with 4 wins and 2 losses. Additionally, Julia was awarded the 4th speaker overall in Public Forum debate.
