Two Academy Teams Make Top 10 in Supercomputing Contest

Two Albuquerque Academy teams competed in the year-long 2014-2015 New Mexico Supercomputing Challenge. Both were selected to the top 10; one team placed second.

Sixty-four teams from throughout New Mexico competed in the finals at the supercomputing contest held at Los Alamos National Lab on April 20-21, 2015.

Comprising all sophomores, the two teams that placed in the top ten were:

Carl Cherne, Mark Swiler, and Jason Watlington who wrote a program to analyze population fluctuations in ecosystems. This team earned second place.
Che Olavarria Gallegos and Antonio Perez who developed a program to model a fusion reactor.
