Betty Zhang ’18, an international exchange student from Australia who has spent her junior year at Albuquerque Academy, has been selected for the Clark Scholar Program at Texas Tech University. The program is an intensive seven-week summer research program that provides hands-on practical research experience with experienced faculty.
Betty is one of only 12 students selected from a pool of approximately 400 applicants. Betty, who hopes to become a physician-scientist, will work with a faculty mentor in neurosciences and pharmacology at the Lubbock university.Betty will go home to Australia at the end of May and then return to the U.S. in June to begin the program. She will complete her final year of high school in Melbourne, Australia.
