Athena Hanna ’29 and Adrian Hanna ’27 have been awarded the Outstanding Entry for Middle School in the Climate Innovation Challenge. The Climate Innovation Challenge cultivates student leaders to think innovatively and communicate effectively about addressing problems that arise in our changing climate.

“Athena and Adrian have honed their videography, interview and storytelling skills in multiple competitions, and this year produced a wonderful piece about creating backyard habitats to enhance diversity and sustainability,” says science teacher Elliot Wilkinson. “It centers on the DOT Garden and features Heidi Anderson, who was instrumental in helping Athena and Adrian produce this video.”
More than 100 Academy students participated in the Climate Innovation Challenge this year. They join a growing community from 15 states and seven countries that is benefitting from this curriculum created here in New Mexico.
