Four Academy thespians — Nate Shay ’24, Ainara Vecchia ’24, Addie Nayback ’25, and Ariana Rosner-Salazar ’25 — attended the International Thespian Festival in June at Indiana University Bloomington with Performing Arts Department Chair Richard Hogle.
They participated in several workshops, including dance for theatre, playwriting and directing, stage management skills, props making, portfolio development, building corsets for period costumes, and stage makeup; competed in individual events, where they finished in the top 80th percentile of 1,400 students; and attended two performances a day from some of the best high school theatre programs in the International Thespian Society. Addie and Ariana also took part in auditions and callbacks with some of the 60+ colleges in attendance.
