The Academy Speech and Debate team had an outstanding showing at the 2025 NSDA National Championship in Des Moines, Iowa, June 15-20. Eleven Chargers participated.
- Anagha Devarakonda ’26 placed 29th out of 1,100 initial entries in Extemporaneous Debate, putting her in the top 2-3% nationwide for that event.
- Aarush Tutiki ’26 advanced from preliminary rounds into the first two elimination rounds of International Extemporaneous Speaking, putting him in the top 60 in the nation.
- Vincent Walters ’25 and William Landahl ’26 represented the Academy as part of NM Crimson — a five-member, mixed-school Worlds Schools Debate team (NM Crimson) that advanced to Triple OctaFinals (top 64).
- William was also named the 21st speaker in World School Debate (out of 600+ competitors).
