The Academy’s Student-College Outreach Program, developed and led by the College Guidance Office’s Shaun Gehres, is one of 24 schools selected to participate in the Polaris Athlete Founding Pilot Program.
Polaris Athlete provides tools to schools and student-athletes that streamline communication and track progress. Through this partnership, student-athletes participating in the Academy’s SACO program will have access to Polaris Athlete’s innovative organizational and research platform that’s designed to provide full ownership of their college recruiting process, backed by the support of the Academy’s college guidance team and coaches.
“Guiding young people with wisdom and conviction requires us to constantly refine our approach, especially in the rapidly evolving landscape of college recruiting,” Shaun says. “Building on seven years of one-on-one college outreach here, Polaris Athlete serves as a powerful home base for our community. It gives our student-athletes immediate access to track their progress at their fingertips, while equipping our counselors and coaches to collaborate and mentor even more effectively.”
In the past four years, 59 Academy Chargers have gone on to compete at the college level.
