At the beginning of spring break, six Academy science students competed in the Central New Mexico Science & Engineering Research Challenge. The Research Challenge is held yearly at the University of New Mexico. Students qualify to participate at the regional level by advancing from their school or local fair. The students and their awards are:
AnaMaria Perez ’20 – Analyzing Patterns within a Derived Egyptian Fraction Decomposition Algorithm – Advanced to State and ISEF Finals, First place CREW NM Award, First Place in Computer and Mathematical Sciences Category, First Place bigbyte.cc Award, MU Alpha Theta Award, David Hilbert Award, and last but not least, AnaMaria was offered an internship at a prominent engineering firm.
