The College Board recently announced 13 Albuquerque Academy students in the Class of 2019 have been named 2018-19 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) Scholars. NHRP Scholars are identified as academically outstanding high school students who scored in the top 2.5% among Hispanic and Latino PSAT/NMSQT test takers in our region while maintaining a high GPA.
Each year, about 5,000 Hispanic/Latino students are selected from a pool of over 250,000 who take the Preliminary SAT/NMSQT. These students are from the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Mariana Islands, and the Marshall Islands, as well as U.S. citizens attending schools abroad. Approximately 200 of the top-scoring PAA™ students from Puerto Rico are also included.
