Six Academy Students Participate in District VII Honor Orchestra Festival

During the weekend before Thanksgiving, the first ever District VII (Albuquerque) Honor Orchestra Festival took place at West Mesa High Schoool. Six juniors and seniors from Albuquerque Academy attended all-day rehearsals and performed in an evening concert. Mieke Doezema ’15 sat as principal cello and Sarah Wilkinson ’15 as principal viola. Art Sheinberg, who retired last spring after teaching music in the Albuquerque Public Schools for 37 years, served as clinician and conductor for the orchestra.
