Leading up to his appointment, Adam emceed part of an event at the world premier of the documentary “Bystanders: Anti-bullying” held in August at the Kimo Theater. He is currently working with the MYAC to create a program called “Hooked on Books,” aimed at creating a culture of reading and writing using peer-to-peer interaction, and creating contests and rewards to encourage Albuquerque’s youth to read. Adam is also working with the MYAC to develop a program addressing drug use among youth in New Mexico.
Adam is also an active member of Youth Service America, which in collaboration with other youth-serving organizations has launched a Campaign for a Presidential Youth Council. As an Ambassador to the campaign, Adam is continuing his work with members of Congress and the New Mexico legislature to increase support and awareness of the campaign amongst youth and with members of Congress. The Presidential Youth Council must be established by an Act of Congress. When formed, the Council will comprise 24 students from across the nation, ages 16 to 24, meeting in Washington, D.C. to advise the President on issues affecting youth.
