According to Hovey Corbin, Symphonic Band director and faculty member, this was a wonderful learning experience for the 45 students in the band. “Our band students learned quickly how professional Disney musicians get an amazingly short amount of time to sound perfect on music they’ve never seen before,” says Mr. Corbin. “It was inspiring for everyone in our band to get a chance to play and record the very same music that goes into making these classic Disney scenes.” Band members recorded “So Long” (last scene from Toy Story 3), “Waiting for the Lights” (from Tangled), and music for the opening credits of Walt Disney Pictures (castle logo). After a 13-hour bus ride and several hours in the studio, students had time to have a little fun at Disneyland and visit the beach before the return bus trip home.
Congratulations to the entire Symphonic Band on earning this exciting opportunity!
