For the eighth year in a row, Albuquerque Academy has been awarded the 4A Director’s Cup from the New Mexico Activities Association. Overall, it’s the 18th time the Academy has been recognized with this award, which was introduced in the 2004-05 school year.
With 3,440 points, the Academy outscored schools in all divisions. The Chargers won eight state titles: boys cross country, boys and girls swimming and diving, boys and girls tennis, girls golf, and boys and girls track and field.
The Director’s Cup is awarded to the top NMAA schools based on success in activities, athletics, and sportsmanship. In the 4A division, Artesia and Los Alamos tied for second with 2,860 points each.
