She wasn’t about to stroll through the newly-refurbished offices in the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Oklahoma, with the muddy barn shoes she had on.
But, the 6-foot-6 basketball prodigy who was spending a good portion of that summer of 2024 working on her grandfather’s ranch in nearby Stillwater, Oklahoma, also wasn’t about to miss out on her chance to go on an unofficial tour of the women’s basketball facilities at the University of Oklahoma — even if she had already that day spilled ice cream on her shirt and stepped in a huge mud puddle
So, Harper Dunn, not yet having started her sophomore year of high school in tiny Corona, New Mexico, went forward that day with meeting OH head coach Jennie Baranczyk and touring the elite SEC facilities, nervously wondering if her dream of one day playing for the Sooners was already over thanks to her mismatched socks and inability to keep ice cream off her shirt.
